I wrote an article back in 2012 where I said an oil well is like an ATM machine. Making a withdrawal puts cash in your hand, but it doesn't make you richer. It makes you poorer faster.

Nobody is putting deposits in our fossil fuel savings account. That hasn't stopped us from draining that account as fast as we can.

If we are to avoid bankruptcy we need to start writing checks out of our solar energy account which is miraculously filled everyday.
