My house is 27 years old, and was built using "quest" tubing.. This tubing used a crimped compression band at any joint or fitting that was added.
I have never had a tube failure, but I have had one fitting blow apart due to a bad crimp joint. I have discovered that the shark bite fittings that you can buy at hardware stores work great when adding a tee or some other change in the plumbing not related to a leak.
After 27 years of experience, I would have no problem using it in a new house or remodeling.
