My W300M was originally purchased by the Soil Conservation Service, a subordinate element of the US Dept of Agriculture.
I have seen several other FFPWs that had been purchased by the US government.
I drove several government purchased unmarked sedans through the years.
Government vehicles were conspicuous by the options - or lack of options they had.
The PWs generally had deluxe cabs as described by Clint with almost all available options to include the heaters.
There was one item that was unique to the government purchased FFPWs. Every one I ever saw had the military style rear bumperette - or the remanants thereof.
