Chris: Well that is interesting. I'm just getting ready to play with a rebuilt distributor with a Pertronix set up, it looks like the total mechanical advance (no vacuum) is in the order of 23 degrees? They say the engines run "hotter" if the timing is off. Is that if it is too far advanced?
