Are you painting them? I epoxy primed the door interiors and then applied the tiles after wiping down with some alcohol or similar spirits.
Again, fat mat is mostly a vibration damper, lowers the resonant frequency so they don't sound so "tinny". But doesn't really "block" or absorb noise, but it's about the only thing you can really do inside the doors as they are.
