If you go with a /6 with a 904 keep the stock transfercase and slide it back a bit you can save a bunch of front weight. That translates into less effort to turn the wheel. Now if you really want to get serious get a warmer cam, Clifford headers, and a 4-barrel intake, it will scream. My 1/2 ton WC pushes 225+hp in 4500lbs with a hardwood flat bed. And with glass packs on the headers it will sound as intimidating as it looks. With the stock 7.50 tires it will run 3100 rpm @ around 55-60. and with a red line of approx 5500 rpm you can run way past the comfort zone.
