I've been told that any M37 power take-off can be used on either the original NP88950 or the B1 series NP420 transmissions. The below quote, from TM 9-8030 C-8 (Change No. 8) of 5 May 1965 indicates this is not the case.
However, people have swapped these PTO's between the two transmissions, apparently without any problem.
Comments, please, and also - how d you tell the difference in the two PTO's? I see no markings on mine. Are the idlers available?
