I bought my 99 and the previous owner had removed it the dealer didnt catch it was about a month before it was replaced it ran real good but was really loud like riding in a 5 ton with no hearing protection for a couple hundred miles I ran a straight pipe on my 12 valve before that and it did sound good but before selling it. I put a large 3in glass pack the muffler man sells here for 54$ and it didnt change the performance but made it sound almost stock. I am thinking about doing the 24 valve the same way it hurt the performance some when they put the muffler back on and the heat shield already rattels.
