Several years back when my brother had the time to do such things, he made a rear bumper for my WDX out of a piece of 10 or 12 inch "H" beam. It goes across the back then turns towards the rear fenders on the outside of the bed. Underneath it has a 2 inch pipe going from side to side. Some years back, some woman had the misfortune of hitting the left-rear corner of this bumper while she was trying to make a right turn on icy roads. Needless to say, she had more damage to her car than the scratched paint on my bumper. Robert
