valve guides

Starting the rebuild of my '48-B1. Which way do the valve guides go into the engine? During tear-down I noticed they were all facing the same way, with the externally beveled end towards the head. However, the p15-d24 website states that the intake and exhaust guides are oriented in opposite directions. Thanks
