OT - Auto tranny's in '98-'99 Ram pickups

I need to buy a new pickup with more room, as my family is expanding. I am looking around for a 98-99 quad cab. I would prefer a 5 spd manual, but most have automatic OD transmissions. Having lived through the GM 700R4 fiasco, I am concerned about the durability of the auto. Has anyone put a lot of miles on a Ram with an auto tranny in it? If so, how has it lasted?
