I've been told the industrial engines had hardened valve seats but the "civilian" ones used in Plymouth cars just had the seats machined into the block. Anybody know for sure if that's true? Given that the engines have probably all been swapped and or rebuilt over the years, it's impossible to say that a 230 found in a Plymouth car today was the one that was in it from the factory.
