You could also use a spring loaded normally open switch. The kind used on trailers for break away. Hook up in the ignition circuit.
Hook a short length of nylon cord between you and the breakaway. Now even if you fall or worse, the engine will be stopped, without you taking any action. Much the same as a kill switch in power boat racing.
