I've seen it done. A simple "dropping resistor" doesn't work very well either because the amount of current the wipers draw varies tremendously through their cycle, which is different from a heater blower motor where the load is steady. That makes them stall easily. You can do it using an actual voltage regulator, but better to just swap in 12v motors and sell the 6s to somebody with a 6v truck
