I've found that price often depends on whether the sleeve was a new or an old production run. If the item has been sitting on the shelf for many years, you may be benefiting from the old price. Sometimes, a part number changes and the old part just sits on the shelf long enough that they reduce the price just to get rid of it.
I've bought sleeves from Rock Auto where this was the case. They deal in old-stock
items. When you get the sleeve, the box indicates the sleeve is decades old. But, the sleeves work fine.
