Getting the trucks ready to go. The tan 1949 hadn't run for a few years. Mice had eaten a few of the wires. Patched those up. Installed the rebuilt carb and new fuel filter. Keith and I filed the points and got it running pretty well. The battery was draining down when left connected. Turn signals and brake lights weren't working. Charlie came over and we ran some tests. Voltage regulator points were stuck closed, causing the drain. Fuse to turn signal switch was bad. Seems like the plastic melted over the contact point. We scraped it clear but still no go. I put in a small ball of aluminum foil and it works like new. Brake sentinel switch wasn't even wired up. Now it's wired properly through the turn signal switch. New lenses on the Signal-Stat turn signals and the truck is good to go.
Brake pedal is really firm right off the bat, but fades to halfway with pressure. Still some adjusting to figure that out.
