Right about the Ford 1 ton 4x4. They did, however, farm them out to convert to 1 ton. I know a guy in Priest River who actually did many of these conversions. I bought a Dana 24 T/C from him with less than 100 miles on it. They used a different frame, more like the W300 frame, and they added a Dana 70 rear and usually a Napco front end. They pulled the Dana 24 T/C and replaced it with a Dana 21(?) to accommodate the Napco front end with the input on the passenger side instead of the driver's side which was typical of Ford. But the Napco front end is nowhere near a match for the Dana 70 front end.
