One of two non-flying billets in his 23 year career. Some of his most interesting stories were about "Honors & Ceremonies", the navigators' job when in port. Not much navigating to do while tied to the wharf.
I don't know if they teach those basics any more, what with GPS. But just in case I do know how to drive a sextant. I wonder how many preppers do?
