The 205 is part time only. 2wd, 4hi, 4 lo. Only problem with them is the "high" low range which is great with a good manual transmission. There is a 203/205 doubler that uses the range box from the 203 and is great on crawlers or for those needing a compound low range.
It is a bit difficult to find a divorced Chevy 205, and even more difficult to find a Dodge application with the right hand front output (At least in my neck), however, look at 70's model internationals, even the half tons. Most, if not all, used a divorced NP 205. I got mine out of a '75 IH 150. Uses 1310 U-joints if I remember correctly, and has 3 different sets of bolt holes for mounting. The top ones go all the way into the gear case so be careful with the length of the bolts you use.
