I replaced the seal around the shifter shaft on a Chelsea pto today. The old one, a National seal, was a double sided seal. It didn't really need to be, it just was, because when they made that pto, likely in the '50s, that's just how they did things.
The replacement seal was a single sided seal. Now it will do the job, but it just irritates me the way they have figured out how to make everything cheaper.
Someone in their 20s or 30s might not even know what I'm talking about and certainly won't know why it bothers me, but it does.
