I went to mount the stock square top carb on my '49 civilian, and realized that I was missing the spacer that goes between the adapter (the piece that bolts to the manifold and has the two studs in it) and the carb. I ordered one from VPW and the one that came is just over a 1/2 inch thick. Since the studs in the adapter are just a bit over an inch long, that spacer is too think to allow the carb to be bolted down. I have two adapters and the studs on both are the same 1 inch length. My question is, is this the wrong (i.e., too thick spacer), or do I need to replace the studs with longer ones?
