m37 vs standard oil pump what is the difference?

I have a T245 engine i want to use in the Civilian PW. VPW told me that the engine was originally for M37 and you need to change the oil pump to match with standard engine distributor. I have 3 oil pumps from 3 engines including the T245 and they all look the same. What is the difference. Quite possible the T235 pump was replaced in an earlier life. In fact a sticker on the timing cover says .060 for the pistons but the actual pistons have .040 stamped on top.
