What kind and size of wire is on the machine?
What kind of welding gas, if any are you using?
Which polarity is it set up to weld? DC reverse, or straight?
A mig is a Constant VOLTAGE power supply, so not enough on the input can make them weld badly.
Is it connected for 230v or 208v, as that can make a difference. (We have been known to rewire the machines to 208v input when using really Long extensions on jobsites with 230v.)

Need to know these before further trouble shooting.
