Thanks for the invite to sell at Carlisle or Hershey, but when I have things to sell I'll do it here, or contact people that have asked me for parts. I haven't sold a lot of parts, thats not what I do for a living. Its just a hobby for me.
Its really up to the seller to determine what a reasonable profit is, or "what the market will bear". Setting prices is based on individual circumstances, atleast in a capitalist society. As a consumer, I decide whether or not I want to pay that price, or do something else like wait, look elsewhere, or go without.
If you want to adjust your prices to match VPW, all well and good - your perrogative. But blaming Vintage for your own price increase, and maybe a better profit margin? Maybe you should be thanking them.
Based on some of the other feedback, you have people that would buy from you because of a discounted price - it makes sense. Competition is good for us consumers. I'll give you a page on this site if you want to advertise your wares.
