...about being careful. But I do not feel that pto shafts and flat belt drives are necessarily unsafe. You just have to use common sense. Yes, many people were killed and maimed, but many more were not. The machine shops that I have worked in and the tools and equipment I have used there and in the construction and maintanence trades are just as dangerouse if you do not know how to use and respect the equipment. One rule is that you just don't stick something where it should not be.
I guess I am just afraid, at the current rate things are going, someday we will not be allowed to even watch this equipment in operation at steam and tractor shows and the like.
Hope I have not offended anyone or come across as making lite of serious accidents, I just want to enjoy and use my Power Wagons as they were intended as long as I live.
