You would have to take the belt pulley off, tow the implement to where it was needed, remove the pintle hitch and bolt the belt pulley back on. To the best of my knowledge, all implements driven by a flat belt via a belt pulley were stationary. Saws, hammermills, threshing machines, etc. Thus, the pintle hitch and the belt pulley were never used at the same time.
