First, a big "Thank You" to everyone who has returned an overdrive survey. The results are very encouraging.
I should clarify one point in the survey. I estimate that the cost of the project will price each overdrive at about $1500-2000, which is a lot of money. This is all based on estimates and guesses. I'm going to work REAL hard to get the price down to about $1000 per unit. I hope it can be done, because the point is to put overdrives on Dodges, not retire in Malibu (I'd retire in Montana anyway, after I buy out Ted Turner).
Also, I am leaning toward using an electrical shift mechanism, for several reasons. It's cheaper, the 4wd interlock system is more reliable, and it protects the overdrive from a careless operator. Remember that I'll be selling these to the Ford and Chevy crowd too. People who must have a mechanical shifter can get one, but it will probably cost more, that's all.
That's all for now. If you want to fill out a survey, please post a note here with your e-mail, and I'll get one to you right away.
Thanks again for all your support.
Greg
