A "bridge plate" is a round plate about 10" dia mounted on the front grill of military vehicles to indicate the weight of the vehicle. Pins on the plates hold two changeable digits that indicate the weight in tons, empty and loaded. There's also a space for a letter "C" at the top for if it has a trailer ("combination"). I've been told that they put corresponding numbers on bridges along the route so that if the number on the bridge is higher than the number on your truck, you can safely cross. I have an M35 that came with a bridge plate and numbers, but I thought it might be nice to put one on the M37 too just for looks.
