def. had a groove in it
no prob with the front el torno can sleave it but what about the rears(speedy sleeve)hope they are in good shape
i gave it to the gas station mechanic with the hub to clean and repack
hub pretty much fell off after i took the nuts off
but when i put it back on it was a tight fit and i really had to draw down on the nut while slightly tapping and rotating
either he pt the seal in a unworn section of the spindle or turned it around so it would ride diff. or as i suspect they cut some link out of the spring or put a tighter one on the seal so it do such
it is off the bare chassis parts truck that app. has a mismatched custom reinforced knuckle which tells me it was put to hard work of some sort
basically i am asking if the seal will work
backwards to avoid the groove
and if it can be put in a different location on the spindle and still do it s job
and how s about just putting a smaller spring around the seal which is my guess as to what he did cuz the stock learther seal went back on so tight--guess i will have to ask him
