the removal and installation of the shoes is much easier on the PW but the adjustment is much more difficult and must be done to precise settings. the PW brakes are fixed anchor or "non servo" brakes which means the shoes have to be set just right to work the way they are supposed to. if they are not adjusted correctly you will have bad braking and blame the design. should be able to stop on a dime if done right. I recommend getting the shoes relined with Abex lining. It is what is used on emergency vehicles (that have drum brakes still usually in the rear) and it never glazes. amazing stuff.
