I have a stock 30 amp alternator on my 64 TWPW with a 318 Poly. I just took a look at the alternator on the W300 Crew Cab fire rescue and it is a LEECE NEVILLE 7706AA with 165 amps and 14v, so I was considering a swap. Question is, do I really need such a monster alternator. The tag is a bit worn, but I can see a small diagram of the terminals and I can make out AC on it. If this thing puts out AC, that would really be cool. There is an AC box and outlet on the dash (not working), but it also has an AC generator. I found an external wiring diagram and it would require a regulator and a relay which is probably on the W300 somewhere, but this is getting beyond my electronic knowledge.
So do you think this would be a good thing or a pain in the arse and not worth it?

The pic is a Wilson replacement item, but looks just like it only new.
