In Feb./Mar. I was searching for the reason why my '68 W300 would not start, and, in fact, nothing electrical worked on it, period.
I discovered that the ammeter was the culprit, and simply moved the hot lead from the pos. post to the negative post, thinking I was simply bypassing the gauge. Since doing this, the truck's two batteries (for the snow plow pump), went dead within a few weeks. I recharged the batteries and within a few weeks they were dead again. Is it possible that bypassing the gauge the way I did it has created a small short that is draining the batteries? I never had this problem before. Thanks. JH
