First step of every tune up- Cranking Rhythm Test. You can hear as little as 5 psi. :
Disconnect the coil, so no spark, and crank it. It should go wump-wump-wump-wump-wump-wump. If it goes wump-wump- oooo-wump-wump-wump, that means that one cylinder is low on compression. If so do a compression test w/ gauge, and get back to us. All cyls should be within 10%. Like 90-100, OK.
If it is a V6 Buick/GM, it may have mismatched components- cam, crank, dist must all be either even fire, OR odd fire.
