Glad you found the running issue.
As disc brakes are always dragging (lightly), I'm used to expecting some normal non-braking heat to be present. They typically operate with a 2psi residual valve, compared to 10psi for most drums. If you can still touch them I'd think they are not too hot, but I don't know the "normal" temperature for a non-applied disc brake.
What's the operating temperature ban for the pads you installed?
