Coil question

When I sold my Power Wagon last week, the new owner asked me to remove the electronic ignition and restore it to the original points setup. When I installed the Pertronix kit, I also installed a fancy hotter coil. I think they called it the flamethrower or some such. Should I leave that coil or put the generic round coil back in. I am feeling that the hotter coil will burn the points?
