My Carryall runs traditional suspension, but the rear springs are softened for a better ride.
When I built my Carryall, there was nothing left inside the floor was all rusted out, body mounts rusted off. The only thing holding the body was the mounts at the A post and one weld on each corner in the rear.
Thus, when I rebuilt everything, I used 2.0" x 2.0" x .250" square tube across the frame rails. The body mounts to the square tube sitting on .750" Neoprene blocks. I also never put the original plywood floor back in. I used 3/16" steel plate, welded to the square tube. Thus I see very little flexing.
I take her off road without worry, run off road at the Rallys. However, its a big once piece body, that if flexed *could* cause serious issues. Thus, I am careful where I take her. I dont go places where I know tremendous flex stresses will be placed on the body.
With all that said, I am very happy with my body mounting, no issues whatsoever. It does have a Cummins B3.9 engine. If I was to do it again, I would change nothing.
