These trucks left the factory with many different combinations. There were also upgrades to be applied in the field.
WC 3/4 tons came with the EARLY TWO-PINION differential that was in S/N 81560738 - or - the IMPROVED TWO-PINION differential that was in S/N 81560739 - 8158900 - or - the EARLY FOUR-PINION differential in S/N 81589501 - 81657581 & 81674101 - 81674747.
Then there's the thing about 8 3/4" and 9 5/8" ring gears, the number of gaskets, machining 1/16" off some carriers, drilling 3/8" stud holes out to 7/16" for using some 8 3/4" differential housings. Some axle shafts did need to be shortened 1/16".
It's a lot to remember.
