I really needed an air cleaner for the '53. Of course with a 2bbl Stromberg WW on a 230 out of a Cornet, stock is right out the window. I did however have in the junk box an oil bath cleaner of dubious ancestry that "looked" kind of like something that might be on an old PW. Of course, no fit no brackets etc. Soooo, I got a 2" to 3" rubber ABS pipe coupling from the hardware store. I cut each end down some so it wouldn't look too dorky, and put a bushing in the big end with some rubber strip that was lurking in the shop and contact cement. The 2" end is a nice tight fit for the air cleaner, and the modified 3" end clamps right onto the top of the WW. The old packing was falling apart, so I figure I'll get a thick Scotchbrite buffer pad and cut it up for packing. El cheapo, and it looks like it belongs there.
