Ouch! Hang in there Nick. Take care of the truck you need for work first. Can't the others wait? I know, not fun waiting. Also, I'm sorry to hear about the PW shimmy.
However, I too am having my share of setbacks. A couple of weeks ago I was finishing up my disc brake install which had been going flawlessly up to the point of installing the front driver's side axle. I couldn't get it in. Originally thought it was a problem at the pumpkin end. Found out it was at the bushing end. Thought my axle was buggered and needed a new one, ordered one, came in, same problem??? Thought maybe the bushing was cocked, hammered on it some more, still couldn't get the axle to seat properly.
Finally, decided to pull the bushing attempting not to harm the seal. No such luck, got the bushing out but destroyed the new seal. Anyway, axle slipped right in without the bushing AND the bushing slipped right over the axle when out of the truck. So apparently, the bushing was cocked? Now to attempt to reinstall the bushing and a NEW seal and try again. I didn't find anything wrong with the area where the bushing or seal rests? Now I need to wait on a new seal to arrive before I can proceed.
So it is with these trucks. Keep us posted...
