The great oil filter debate...reopened?
Forgive me if this topic has been addressed here before but has anyone tried to track down the original producer this filter (WIX/Dana Corp has been suggested) for this CarQuest filter to determine whether a new run of production is possible? Spec's must exist out there.
I just replaced one with the WIX/NAPA 1011 and it's hardly a close replacement. I got it installed but not without some serious persuasion. I am not looking forward to the next oil change for fear I may need to use the winch to get it out!
It seems if D.Shockly could convince Warn to allow him to reproduce replica M13 hubs all the vintage Dodge owners out there ought to be able to contract a filter manufacturer to produce a replica oil filter that fits!
