Selling a rebuilt Dodge M37 230 cid flathead six cylinder engine and matching transmission. Engine is removed from a 1954 M37, however the tag on the side said 1959 when I had it rebuilt. I purchased all parts for the rebuild from Vintage power wagon and I have a lot of the receipts. I had a professional machine shop in Pekin Illinois (Automotive Machine) do the rebuild and machine work. Engine has 2000 miles since rebuild. I removed because I am doing a repower with a modern fuel injected engine.

Engine specs: items purchased in 2002. Engine rebuilt November 2002
- Nos crankshaft installed at rebuild.
- Isky High performance came (more lift and duration) Normal idle
- heavy duty valve springs
- new intake valves and seats
- new timing chain
- Hardened exhaust valves and seats (converted to run unleaded gas)
- new motor mount
- Nos crank gear
- new cam bearings
- New internal water tube

Also included:
- 2 rebuilt Carbs. One I rebuilt and one from Vintage Power Wagon ($350)

- Newer spark plugs

- Rebuilt starter

- Working Generator
- Distributor and wires (one wire damaged during engine removal)
- motor mount bracket
- water pump, fan, belt
- oil pressure sensor, dip stick, oil fill tube,
- intake and exhaust manifold (NOS in 2002)
- Transmission has not been rebuilt. Clutch is good and still in place. shifts good. Moved truck down the road in all gears fine. Does have a intermittent chirp when moving. Comes and goes. Probably result of a bearing getting dry as my PTO had a leak.

The bad: I had the truck sitting in my garage from 2009 to 2011. I pulled it out once every couple month and let it run in the driveway. In 2013 I got it out and serviced, inspected, licensed and plated. After a few weeks running around town it started having an issue when I hit the gas. Idled okay, but when I hit the gas, it fell on its face. I ordered and installed a new rebuilt carb from vintage power wagon, which made no difference. I also put a rebuilt fuel pump on it just in case it was running out of gas. No difference. Engine has good oil pressure 20 - 35 psi depending on engine temp. Engine does have old set of points that I have filed many times. I suspect something in the distributor, but got tired of messing with it, since I was planning on pulling it anyway.

engine is out of truck. Head is loose so you can inspect it. I have a compression tester and we can check compression if you want. I have an engine hoist and can help load. I AM WILLING TO TRADE FOR GOOD M37 BODY PARTS.

Asking price is $1,000
