Broken tap removal method? I believe machine shop supply houses sell a kit of clay and nitric acid. The clay is used to build a dam around the offending part and nitric acid slowly eats away at the pin or tap. Good for stainless steel or aluminum but cast iron?
I've used this effectively on taps broken in aluminum but it's slow. Could take 2 days sometimes, periodically wicking away the old acid and applying new.
