tool to remove speedo cable from flat fender TC

Does anyone know of a tool that works well for this task?
THe Dodge engineers went out of their way to make it difficult, without having to pull off the brake bracket.
I thought of fashioning a specific tool using a pair of long nose vice grips by heating and bending the nose at an angle, or something similar. Too bad the female end that screws onto the TC is not hexagonal, then one could use an oxygen sensor socket.
