Front lockers (or welded spiders) can be a pain and are tough on the drive train. I installed front and rear lockers on my '74 Scout II just before taking it to Moab this Easter. With the Scout in 4X4 Lo and the hubs locked in, it would barely turn on that slickrock. It also built up a lot of strain in the drive train, which caused the transfer case to pop into neutal a few times. I finally unlocked the front hubs and left it in 4X4 Lo except for real extreme places. If I had it do over again, I wouldn't put a locker in the front end, or would go with an ARB unit or OX locker that can be disengaged when not needed. I believe you would hate having welded spiders in the front differential. Just my opinion.
