Ray, If you dont plan on taking all the other stuff off and restoring/ repairing them also, I think that blasting the frame is a bad idea.(althoufh getting all the open and accesable spots could'nt hurt) Any brake and fuel lines with rust will most likly pin hole. Sand will get into everything. nooks and cranneys around motor that have years of grease will not get down to metal, sand just sticks to the greese. If you have the body off, this is the time to go all the way if that is what you wish to do. Be prepaired to spend a pretty good amount of money on a full resto. When I took my 48 down, I realized how many little things needed attention. (all springs needed bushings, pins. Brake, clutch pedals,etc....) I am glad that I went this route, Truck will make it at least another 50+ years, and I have the satisfaction of knowing it is in top shape. If you do decide to rip it down, have patience, the final product will reflect your attention to detail. If you decide to not go that route, I think at least clean as best as possible in problem areas and use a rust converter. this should still be a bit time consuming. Which ever you decide, GOOD LUCK!!! Keep us posted and don't be afraid to ask that stupid question, we are all glad to help. John
