The biggest factor you didn't mention is the cab and chassis in A1 shape, so if you don't have to spend a lot on that part of the truck I would go for a repop 2nd series bed.
Just my opinion, even though I have a couple of 1st & 3rd series beds. I like the looks of the 1st and 2nd series beds. The second has angled top gunnells and sculptured posts and the 1st just looks right !
