I'm not so sure I agree. The best deal I ever got on a PW was the Williamsfield bush firetruck from IL off Ebay for $7000. It had your typical ugly fire body & therefore nobody bid on it. I got it for $7000 with 5000 original miles.
That was the best original, best running PW I've ever had.
So now to put a bed on it...I haven't checked prices with Matt lately but I'm guessing a new bed could be bought & painted including new wood, mint tailgate, new chains, bed supports, running boards & mint fenders for about $7k ish
Sounds like a lot but lets say $1000 to paint to match the truck & so you're into it for $15k.
$15k buys you an average truck with tons of "Character"(rust & dents for the layman)these days. This truck would be a 5000 original mile truck with a pristine body & interior...that would be very hard to find for $15k.
