the oil film on the bearings is not affected until you get passed 3200 rpms on engines with huge crankshafts like these. that is why governors on all the old gas powered trucks were normally set at 3200 max. And why the data plate says max speed 55. that is close to 3200 rpm with 36 inch 9.00s. But running 2500 you may get a little more life out of the rings and exhaust valves.
