140 to 160 ft lbs. Yes you can use an impact wrench but be careful. Also something i recently learned is the preload has to be set out of the case on a press then place it in the case. The shaft will absorb the slack by pulling the shaft towards the shaft threads. Also less shims more preload. Its not like cramming more in the case will absorb the slack as i previously thought. One other quick thing i learned...you have to clean out the center of your shaft. If its clogged the gear oil can't migrate to the bearings to oil them. And y'all think i haven't been listening! :)
