most of the stuff that bolts to a pw engine is small and would likely fit in a small wooden box. bring a rebuilt carb, dist, waterpump, starter, spark plugs and wires, hoses, belt. yes, you can change and set points on the road, or hit your carb or starter with a hammer, but can you do it safely, at night or in the rain? bring one wheel bearing setup with seals. bring spare tire and spare tube. jack, lug wrench and wood blocking. bring water, oil & spare filter. A jerry can with fuel is nice. bring jumper pack to jump truck, substitute for a bad battery or to power phones, radio etc. when you need help. spare ujoint or 2. wiper blades, sunscreen, fresh water, blankets, tarp and tools to install the above and below. a spare headlight bulb woudn't hurt. if you are wheeling on your trip, bring a set of axle flanges and gaskets and sealer in case you break a hub or rear axle. electrical tape, some crimp terminals and extra wire is nice. bring your manual, your greg coffin interchange manual and a printout of the parts cross list from the site. onboard air compressor, welder and inverter fall into the nice to have but at what cost category. The real way to accomplish this is to buy a 3/4 pioneer tool trailer and fit it out to the nines. if i had the space in my garage, i would build one set up for long cruise support. let guys on the page here know your route and make up a phone list of those along the way......
